海外ドラマを見ていて思うのが、
「ボクもこの一員に加わりたいー！」
海外ドラマは長く放映されるのでものすごく感情移入できる。
特にフレンズはシーズン10まであるのでそれぞれの登場人物に
ものすごく思い入れができる。
「こんな友だちがいたらいいなー」
「一緒に会話に混ざりたいなー！」
なんて思ってしまう。
そんなフレンズだが、
10年間も放送された大人気ドラマだったおかげで
アメリカ人にとってフレンズと言えば共通認識になっている。
そんなフレンズについて英語で話すことができたら
話のネタが広がるだろうと言うことで
今日はフレンズに出てくるキャラクターを英語で
簡単に説明できるようになってみよう。
その後にスクリプトから語彙などを勉強してみよう。

フレンズに出てくるのは6人の男女の友達だ。
ロス (Ross Geller)
Ross is an paleontologist at a museum of prehistory.
He’s Monica’s older brother.
He got divorced bunch of times in the show and finally became together with Rachel.

レイチェル (Rachel Karen Green)
Rachel is the spoiled but warm-hearted and likable daughter or a rich surgeon.
She appeared for the first time in the first episode after she left her fiance.
Rachel and Ross got back together in the final episode of the series.

モニカ (Monica Geller)
Monica is the younger sister of Ross and best friend of Rachel.
She works as a chef.

しばらく一人暮らしのロスはサルを連れてきた。
サルの名前はマーセル。。。
ジョーイ「It’s such a slap in the face」
去年はサンタ役をやったジョーイだが
今年はサンタのお手伝い役に格下げされたジョーイ。

チャンドラー「You don’t have to face the horrible pressures of this holiday: desperate scramble to find anything with lips so you can have someone to kiss when the ball drops.」
恋人がいる人は、新年を迎えた瞬間にキスをするのが
アメリカの習慣らしい。
この時には恋人がいないチャンドラーが皮肉を言っている。

ロスが猿のマーセルが最近暴れていることに対して
不満を言っていたが、
チャンドラーは、マーセルと素晴らしい時間を過ごした
という。
