Topic: Can stricter gun control laws reduce crime in society?
(より厳しい銃規制法は社会の犯罪を減らせるか?)

🔹 スピーチ(2分)
I believe that stricter gun control laws can reduce crime in society.

First, data shows that countries with strict gun laws tend to have lower gun-related crime rates. For example, Japan and the UK have very few shootings compared to countries with looser laws, like the US.

Second, restricting access to guns can prevent impulsive violence and mass shootings. Many violent crimes happen in the heat of the moment. If firearms are harder to obtain, such incidents may be avoided.

Third, gun control laws send a message that violence is not acceptable. They contribute to a culture of peace and safety, especially in urban areas where gun crime is more common.

For these reasons, I support implementing stronger gun control measures to make society safer.

🔹 Q&A例

Q1: Some say that criminals will still find ways to get guns illegally. What do you think?

→ That may be true, but stricter laws make it harder. They reduce the overall number of guns in circulation, which lowers the chance of violence.

Q2: What about the argument of self-defense?

→ Self-defense is important, but there are non-lethal alternatives. Also, more guns often lead to more accidents or escalated conflicts.

Q3: Should every country have the same gun laws?

→ Not necessarily. Each country should consider its culture and crime rates. However, some basic safety standards should be universal.
