Ippo is the main character of Hajime no Ippo. He is a shy high school student who becomes a boxer. Ippo is hardworking, kind, and always tries his best in training and fights. His goal is to become stronger and protect the people he cares about.
鷹村 守 (たかむら まもる)
鷹村は自信満々で強いボクサーです。彼は一歩やジムの仲間たちの先輩であり指導者です。鷹村は声が大きくて面白いですが、ボクシングには真剣です。複数の階級で世界チャンピオンになることを目指しています。
Takamura is a very confident and strong boxer. He is a mentor to Ippo and other gym members. Takamura is loud and funny, but very serious about boxing. He wants to be a world champion in multiple weight classes.
宮田 一郎 (みやた いちろう)
宮田は一歩のライバルで、技術の高いボクサーです。冷静で賢く、正確なカウンターパンチが得意です。宮田は一歩を尊敬していて、一歩の成長を促します。
Miyata is Ippo’s rival and a skilled boxer. He is calm, smart, and uses a precise counterpunching style. Miyata respects Ippo and pushes him to become better.
木村 達也 (きむら たつや)
木村はジムの親切で協力的なボクサーです。一歩の親しい友人の一人です。木村は努力家で、いつも周りの人を励まします。
Kimura is a friendly and supportive boxer at the gym. He is one of Ippo’s close friends. Kimura is hardworking and always encourages others.
青木 勝 (あおき まさる)
青木はジムのもう一人の一歩の友人です。よくユーモアや明るい場面を作ります。青木は強いですが、時々ドジなところもあります。
Aoki is another friend of Ippo’s in the gym. He often brings humor and light moments to the story. Aoki is strong but sometimes clumsy.
