こち亀とは？
「こち亀」は『こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所』の略です。東京・葛飾区にある「亀有公園前派出所（＝交番）」が舞台のギャグ漫画です。
作者は秋本治（あきもと おさむ）先生で、1976年から2016年まで「週刊少年ジャンプ」で連載されていました。40年間にわたり続いた、歴代最長クラスの連載漫画です。
主人公は両津勘吉（りょうつ かんきち）という警察官です。彼は怠け者で、お金にがめつく、よくトラブルを起こしますが、実は人情に厚くて優しい一面もあります。
毎回、両津が何か一発当てようと奇想天外なことをして、大騒動を巻き起こします。彼の同僚には、イケメンで金持ちの中川や、美人で知的な麗子などがいて、よく巻き込まれたり、止めようとしたりします。
“Kochikame” is short for “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo,” which means “This is the police station in front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward.”
It is a Japanese manga series written by Osamu Akimoto. It was published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1976 to 2016, making it one of the longest-running manga series in history.
The story follows Kankichi Ryotsu, a middle-aged police officer who works at a small police station in Tokyo. He is lazy, greedy, and always looking for a way to make money quickly. But at the same time, he is kind, loyal, and full of energy.
Each chapter is a self-contained comedy story. Ryotsu comes up with a crazy idea, causes chaos, and usually fails in a funny way. His coworkers, like the rich and handsome Nakagawa and the elegant Reiko, often try to stop him or get caught up in his schemes.
両津 勘吉
両津勘吉は「こち亀」の主人公です。中年の警察官で、怠け者でお金にがめつく、すぐに儲け話に飛びつきます。でも、心の中は優しくて、仲間にとても忠実です。いつも騒動を起こしますが、決してあきらめません。
Kankichi Ryotsu is the main character of Kochikame. He is a middle-aged police officer who is lazy, greedy, and always chasing money. But deep down, he is kind and very loyal to his friends. He often causes trouble but never gives up.
中川 圭一
中川は両津の同僚です。お金持ちで、ハンサムで、とても礼儀正しいです。裕福な家の出身で、何でも上手にこなします。両津の失敗をよくフォローしますが、彼のことを尊敬しています。
Nakagawa is Ryotsu’s coworker. He is rich, handsome, and very polite. He comes from a wealthy family and is good at everything. He respects Ryotsu, even though he often has to clean up his mess.
秋本・カトリーヌ・麗子
麗子は美しくて頭の良い女性警察官です。フランス系のハーフで、お金持ちの家の出身です。両津の無茶な行動を止めようとしますが、彼の人間味もよく理解しています。
Reiko is a beautiful and intelligent female officer. She is part French and comes from a wealthy family. She often tries to stop Ryotsu’s crazy ideas, but she also understands his good heart.
大原 大次郎
大原部長は交番の署長です。とても厳しくて、両津によく怒鳴ります。でも実は彼のことを信頼し、気にかけています。父親のような存在です。
Ōhara is the chief of the police station. He is very strict and often yells at Ryotsu. However, he secretly trusts and cares about him. He is like a father figure.
本田 速人
本田はおとなしくて内気な警察官です。でもバイクに乗ると性格が変わり、ワイルドで攻撃的なライダーになります。その二面性にみんな驚きます。
Honda is a quiet and shy police officer. However, when he gets on a motorcycle, he turns into a wild and aggressive biker. He has a split personality that surprises everyone.
寺井 洋一
寺井は臆病で運の悪い警察官です。真面目でルールを守るタイプですが、いつも両津の騒動に巻き込まれてしまいます。
Terai is a timid and unlucky officer. He always follows the rules and is very honest. He often gets caught up in Ryotsu’s troubles, even though he doesn’t want to.
ボルボ西郷
ボルボ西郷は元傭兵で、射撃の名人です。怖そうな見た目で無口ですが、冷静で仲間に忠実です。時々、危険な場面で両津を助けます。
Volvo Saigō is a former mercenary and an expert marksman. He looks scary and silent, but he is very calm and loyal. He sometimes helps Ryotsu in dangerous situations.
日暮
日暮は伝説の警官で、4年に一度のうるう年の日にしか目を覚ましません。超人的な能力で、その日にすべての仕事をこなしてしまいます。そしてまた眠りにつきます。
Higurashi is a legendary officer who wakes up only once every four years—on leap day. He has superhuman strength and finishes all his work in one day. After that, he goes back to sleep.
