以下の6つがTOEICのスピーキングである。

Q1: Read a text aloud:提示された文章を読み上げるセクション。発音、イントネーション、流暢さを評価。

Q2: Describe a picture:写真を見て、その写真について詳しく説明するセクション。語彙力や文の構造を評価。

Q3: Respond to questions:質問に対して適切に答えるセクション。ビジネスシチュエーションに関連する質問が出されることが多い。

Q4: Respond to Questions Using Information Provided:提示された情報を基に質問に答えるセクション。例えば、スケジュールやグラフに基づいて答えるなど。

Q5: Express an opinion:特定のトピックについて自分の意見を述べるセクション。意見を述べる能力と、その意見をサポートする論理的な理由が求められる。

Q6: Propose a solution:問題やシチュエーションに対して解決策を提案するセクション。ビジネスでの問題解決能力が評価される。


Q1: Read a text aloud

Read the following passage aloud. You will have 45 seconds to prepare and 45 seconds to read aloud.

Text: “Globalization has significantly changed the way businesses operate. With the internet, companies can reach customers worldwide, expand their market, and provide services 24 hours a day. As a result, businesses must adapt to different cultures and time zones to remain competitive.”

Q2: Describe a picture

Look at the picture. You will have 30 seconds to prepare and 45 seconds to describe the picture.

[Insert picture of a busy office scene: people working at desks, some on the phone, others talking to coworkers, computers on desks, papers scattered]


Example Answer: “In this picture, I see a busy office environment with several employees working at their desks. Some people are talking on the phone, while others are discussing something with their colleagues. There are computers on each desk, along with papers and office supplies. The office seems to be a fast-paced and collaborative workspace. It looks like the workers are focused on their tasks, contributing to the overall productivity of the company.”

Q3: Respond to questions

Imagine you are at a hotel and the receptionist is asking you questions. Respond to the receptionist’s questions.


Question : How was your stay at our hotel?
Example Answer: “My stay was excellent. The room was very comfortable, and the staff was friendly. I especially liked the breakfast buffet. I will definitely stay here again in the future.”


Question : Could you please describe any issues you had during your stay?
Example Answer: “The only issue I had was that the Wi-Fi connection was a bit slow at times. Other than that, everything was great.”


Question : Will you be recommending our hotel to others?
Example Answer: “Yes, I will definitely recommend your hotel to my friends and family. The location was convenient, and the service was outstanding.”

Q4: Respond to Questions Using Information Provided

You will have 30 seconds to read a schedule and then respond to the following questions. Here is an example schedule of a conference:

Question : What time is the Marketing Strategies Workshop?

Example Answer: “You can attend the New Product Presentation in Hall A. It starts at 1:30.”


Question : What event is scheduled after the lunch break?
Example Answer: “After the lunch break, there is the New Product Presentation at 1:30 in Hall A.”

Q5: Express an opinion

You will be asked to give your opinion on a topic. You will have 30 seconds to prepare and 60 seconds to respond.


Prompt: “Do you think working from home is more efficient than working in an office?”


Example Answer: “In my opinion, working from home can be more efficient for some people. It allows employees to save time on commuting and work in a more comfortable environment. Without the distractions of an office, such as constant meetings or interruptions, it can be easier to focus on tasks. However, some people may find it difficult to stay disciplined without the structure of an office setting. Overall, I believe it depends on the individual and their work style.”

Q6: Propose a solution

You will hear a situation and be asked to propose a solution.


Prompt: “You work at a company, and your coworker is worried about missing an important meeting because they have a family emergency. What would you suggest?”


Example Answer: “I understand the situation and would suggest you speak to our manager about your emergency. You can ask if the meeting can be rescheduled, or perhaps you can join the meeting online if possible. I could also take notes for you and share the important points afterward. That way, you won’t miss any important information.”
