以下の6つがTOEICのスピーキングである。

Q1: Read a text aloud:提示された文章を読み上げるセクション。発音、イントネーション、流暢さを評価。

Q2: Describe a picture:写真を見て、その写真について詳しく説明するセクション。語彙力や文の構造を評価。

Q3: Respond to questions:質問に対して適切に答えるセクション。ビジネスシチュエーションに関連する質問が出されることが多い。

Q4: Respond to Questions Using Information Provided:提示された情報を基に質問に答えるセクション。例えば、スケジュールやグラフに基づいて答えるなど。

Q5: Express an opinion:特定のトピックについて自分の意見を述べるセクション。意見を述べる能力と、その意見をサポートする論理的な理由が求められる。

Q6: Propose a solution:問題やシチュエーションに対して解決策を提案するセクション。ビジネスでの問題解決能力が評価される。


Q1: Read a text aloud

Instructions: You will have 45 seconds to prepare and 45 seconds to read the text aloud.

Sample Text:

“Technology has changed the way we live, work, and communicate. Smartphones, in particular, have revolutionized daily life by allowing us to access information, stay connected with others, and perform tasks on the go. Although these devices are useful, some argue that they also lead to distractions and reduce face-to-face interaction.”

Q2: Describe a picture

Instructions: You will have 30 seconds to prepare and 45 seconds to describe the picture.


Picture Description Example: Imagine a picture of a park where people are jogging, sitting on benches, and a dog is playing in the background.


Example Answer: “In this picture, there is a park where several people are spending time. On the left side, a couple is jogging along the path. In the center, a young woman is sitting on a bench reading a book. In the background, there is a man walking his dog, and the dog is playing with a ball. The trees and greenery make it look like a peaceful, sunny afternoon. Overall, it seems like a nice place for people to relax and enjoy outdoor activities.”

Q3: Respond to questions

Instructions: You will hear three questions and respond accordingly.


Scenario: The questions are about your daily activities.


Question : What do you usually do in the morning before going to work?

Example Answer: “In the morning, I typically start my day with a cup of coffee. After that, I prepare breakfast, which is usually something quick like toast or cereal. Then I check my emails and get ready for work by getting dressed and organizing my things.”


Question : How do you usually get to work or school?

Example Answer: “I usually take the bus to work. It’s convenient because the bus stop is near my house, and it only takes about 20 minutes to get to the office. I sometimes listen to podcasts during the ride.”


Question : What do you like to do in your free time?

Example Answer: “In my free time, I enjoy reading and exercising. I often go to the gym a few times a week, and when I have more time, I like to read novels or watch movies.”

Q4: Respond to Questions Using Information Provided

Instructions: You will be given some information, and you need to answer the questions based on that information.


Scenario: You have been given a schedule for a company meeting.

Meeting Schedule Example:

9:00 AM: Opening Speech
10:00 AM: Team Presentations
12:00 PM: Lunch Break
2:00 PM: Workshop
4:00 PM: Closing Remarks


Question : When is the lunch break?

Example Answer: “The lunch break is scheduled at 12:00 PM.”


Question : What will happen at 2:00 PM?

Example Answer: “At 2:00 PM, there will be a workshop.”


Question : How long is the morning session?

Example Answer: “The morning session lasts from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, which is three hours.”

Q5: Express an opinion

Instructions: You will hear a situation and need to provide a solution.


Scenario: Your colleague is feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work and doesn’t know how to finish everything by the deadline.


Example Answer: “To help your colleague, I would suggest that they prioritize their tasks by importance. They can make a list of what needs to be done immediately and what can be postponed. If possible, they could delegate some tasks to other team members. Finally, setting small goals and taking short breaks in between can help them stay focused and reduce stress.”

Q6: Propose a solution

Instructions: You will be asked to give your opinion on a specific topic.


Question: Do you think it is important to learn a foreign language? Why or why not?

Example Answer: “Yes, I believe it’s very important to learn a foreign language. First, it opens up new opportunities for communication, both in business and personal life. Being able to speak another language can help you connect with people from different cultures and understand their perspectives better. Second, learning a language can also improve cognitive skills, like problem-solving and multitasking. Lastly, it can boost career opportunities, especially in international companies.”
