千尋
千尋は物語の主人公で、10歳の少女です。霊界に迷い込んでしまい、最初は臆病で少し甘えん坊な性格ですが、次第に勇敢でしっかりした人物に成長します。両親が豚にされてしまい、彼らを救うために湯婆婆の温泉宿で「千」として働きます。
Chihiro is the protagonist of the story, a ten-year-old girl who stumbles into the spirit world. She begins as a timid and somewhat spoiled child but gradually grows into a brave and resourceful person. She works in Yubaba’s bathhouse under the name “Sen” to save her parents, who were turned into pigs.
ハク
ハクは龍に変身できる謎めいた少年です。湯婆婆の弟子として働いていますが、物語を通じて千尋を助けます。実は川の神であり、千尋が幼い頃に彼の川を救ったという深いつながりがあります。
Haku is a mysterious boy who can transform into a dragon. He is Yubaba’s apprentice but helps Chihiro throughout her journey. It’s revealed that he is a river spirit and has a deep connection to Chihiro, as she once saved his river.
ゆばーば
湯婆婆は魔女で、不思議な温泉宿を経営しています。欲深く厳しい性格で、力を愛しています。千尋の名前を奪い、代わりに「千」という名前を与えることで彼女を支配しようとします。ただし、息子の坊には甘い一面も持っています。
Yubaba is the witch who runs the magical bathhouse. She is greedy, strict, and loves power. She takes Chihiro’s name and gives her the name “Sen” as a way of controlling her. Despite her harshness, she has a soft spot for her son, Bô.
ぜにーば
銭婆は湯婆婆の双子の妹です。姉とは違い、優しくて温かい性格です。千尋を助け、思いやりや許しの大切さを教えます。
Zeniba is Yubaba’s twin sister. Unlike her sister, she is kind and warm-hearted. She helps Chihiro and teaches her about the importance of kindness and forgiveness.
カオナシ
カオナシは孤独で謎めいた霊で、千尋に執着します。彼は欲望とそれがもたらす危険性を象徴していますが、千尋の優しさによって変わることを学びます。
No-Face is a lonely and mysterious spirit who becomes obsessed with Chihiro. He symbolizes greed and the dangers of unchecked desires but learns to change through Chihiro’s kindness.
かまじい
釜爺は温泉宿のボイラー室で働く老人で、多くの腕を持ち、それを使って効率的に作業をしています。最初は不愛想に見えますが、実際は優しく、千尋が困った時に助けてくれます。
Kamaji is the boiler operator of the bathhouse, with multiple arms that allow him to do his work efficiently. At first, he seems grumpy, but he is kind and helps Chihiro when she needs it.
リン
リンは温泉宿の従業員で、千尋の友人でありメンターとなります。気が強く皮肉屋な一面がありますが、千尋を気遣い、霊界での生活をサポートしてくれます。
Lin is one of the bathhouse workers who becomes Chihiro’s friend and mentor. She is tough and sarcastic but deeply cares for Chihiro and helps her navigate the spirit world.
坊（ぼう）
坊は湯婆婆の巨大な赤ん坊で、甘やかされてわがままな性格です。銭婆の魔法で縮められた後、謙虚になることを学びます。
Bô is Yubaba’s gigantic baby, spoiled and demanding. He undergoes a transformation after being shrunk by Zeniba’s magic and learns to be more humble.
川の神
川の神は、最初は「くさいものの神」として汚れて不快な姿で温泉宿に現れます。千尋が彼を浄化したことで、本来の力強く感謝に満ちた川の神の姿が明らかになります。
The River Spirit initially appears as a filthy and unpleasant “Stink Spirit” when he visits the bathhouse. Chihiro cleanses him, revealing his true form as a powerful and grateful river spirit.
