連想法: 「ハイブリッド車」から想像。異なるものが合わさって新しいものができるイメージ。

Rigorous (厳格な、徹底的な)
連想法: 「リーグ (league)」で厳しいルール。スポーツのリーグで厳しい規則を守る様子を連想。

「blue streak（青い筋）」を空に描かれる稲妻と想像してみましょう。稲妻は素早く光り、止まることがありません。そのように、人が息もつかせぬ早さで延々と話す様子をイメージします。
take to: を好きになる
「take」は「取る」という意味なので、何かを「手に取る」イメージ。新しい趣味や人を「取る」ことで、それに親しみを感じる様子を想像します。
trump up: を捏造する
「trump」と聞くと「トランプカード」を連想。トランプゲームでは、嘘をついて勝とうとすることもあるので、「嘘を捏造する」と結びつけます。
throw in: を差し挟む
「throw（投げる）」と考え、会話にポイッと「意見を投げ入れる」イメージを持ちます。何かを追加で加える行動に結びつけましょう。
trim down: を削減する
「trim（切り揃える）」を庭の植木のトリミングと関連付けます。余分な枝葉を切り落としてスリムにするように、余分を「削減する」とイメージします。
