このカテゴリーでは、ドラクエ１１の世界に入って英語の勉強をしている。
読み進めていくにしたがって、日英で町の名前などが違っていることに気が付いた。。。
なので、ドラクエ１１の中の街の名前を日英で調べてみた。
イシの村：Cobblestone
神の岩：Cobblestone Tor
デルカダール城：Heliodor
デルカダール地下水路：The Serpentine Sewers of Heliodor
ナプガーナ密林：The Manglegrove
ホムラの里：Hotto
ヒノノギ火山：Mount Huji
荒野の地下迷宮：The Cryptic Crypt
サマディー地方：Gallopolis Region
サマディー城下町：Gallopolis
ダーハラ湿原：Laguna di Gondolia
ダーハルーネの街：Gondolia
全く違う名前になっているのがおもしろい。
ドラクエ１１の世界
前回手紙を読んだPesoo。
箱の中には「Keystone：まほうのいし」が入っていた。
Erik: So we use the Keystone to open the Door of Departure and head out into the world, huh? Soulds easy enough. You better believe I’m coming with you!
Pesoo: 「head out」は「出発する」という意味か。
Erik: You said it was just east of here, right? Well- what are we waiting for? Oh, I know what we’re waiting for- I’ve got some unfinished business to attend to, the Orb! The Kingsbarrow’s not too far from here. Just down the way, in fact. Let’s go claim what’s rightfully mine!
Pesoo: 「unfinished business」とは「やり残した仕事」のことか。「claim」は「要求する」という意味か。
とりあえず、レッドオーブを求めて二人は旅立つ。
終わりに
今回は、日英の名前の違いを調べてみた。
街の名前だけでなく、登場人物の名前も変わったりしているので
その辺りも今後調べていきたい。
